FSC appeals to fashion and textile companies to curb the industry’s impact on deforestation and biodiversity loss. Participants include H&M Group, Masai Clothing Company, Brunello Spa, JBS Textiles Group, Aditya Birla Group, Bitte Kai Rand and Bravo World.

At Brunello, we are proud to share the mission promoted by FSC, which aims to protect the world’s forests. That is why in 2021 we decided to join the Fashion Forever Green Pact: only by creating a community of like-minded companies can we build a better future, together.

Brunello has been working with FSC since 2017 and is the first Italian textile company to obtain the certification.

With the growing need for renewable and sustainable fibers in recent years, man-made cellulosic fibers (MMCF) have become among the fastest growing products in the market. However, most of this material still comes from uncertified forests, making these ecosystems vulnerable to deforestation and threatening the biodiversity and livelihoods of those who depend on them.

The Fashion Forever Green Pact is based on a series of three actions aimed at integrating sustainability into the fashion industry’s growing reliance on fiber and other forest-based materials. The initiative represents an industry-wide collaboration between FSC and brand owners to drive change in sourcing practices and ultimately safeguard the world’s forests. By joining, companies and brands proactively commit to responsible sourcing policies, sustainable sourcing of 100 percent of FSC-certified MMSFs within one year of signing up, and FSC labeling of at least one collection.
